June 7 – Kite Festival, a Family Feista @ Pemberton Park
The Kite Festival, a Family Fiesta, hosted in partnership with Family Services and the Lawrence Heritage State Park, is a family-friendly event that includes free kite-making and kite-flying at Pemberton Park, located on the banks of the Merrimack River.  The event features lunch courtesy of the Summer Meals Program, face-painting, music and free trolley rides. 11:00 - 3:00 PM.

July 2 – Farmers Market
The Lawrence Downtown Farmers Market will open on July 2 and continue every Wednesday through Oct 29.  Market hours are 10:30am - 6:30pm.  Location: Appleton Way between Essex and Common Streets, near City Hall, which is located at 200 Common Street. 

July 9 – Summer Concert Series at Lawrence Farmer’s market (weekly July 9 - Aug. 27)
The LiveLawrence! Summer Concert Series returns!!!  Last year we hosted great performances by artists ranging from a Celtic Harpist and Brazilian Percussion to Latin Jazz and Andean music.  2008 Schedule TBA, check our website periodically for updates.

August 23 – Harvest Festival at Dr. Nina Scarito Park
Celebrate another successful summer of gardening with GWL at our flagship community garden located at Dr. Nina Scarito Park.

September 13 – 7th Annual Spicket River Cleanup
In partnership with the City of Lawrence and local schools, community groups, and businesses, this annual event brings together hundreds of volunteers to remove trash, debris and invasive plants from the banks of the Spicket River.  Last year over 650 volunteers participated and removed over 200 tires and 17 tons of trash. 

September 28 – GWL Green Team Led Hike at Den Rock Park (ENHC Trails & Sails event)
As part of ENHC’s annual “Trails and Sails” weekend join Groundwork Lawrence's Green Team for a brisk hike through Lawrence's "hidden jewel," Den Rock Park.  The park is a 120-acre wooded preserve that includes walking trails, a granite rock face with fissures perfect for technical climbing, scenic overlooks, a beaver pond, and access to the Shawsheen River.  Last year our hikers discovered a new beaver dam! 

October 5 – Canal IllumiNations (a LiveLawrence! event)
LIVE Lawrence's “Canal IllumiNations” celebrates the city’s diverse cultural offerings by providing a Sunday filled with cultural activity. Come live the arts and culture of Lawrence! Lantern making and ceremony planned at sunset, along with musical performances.

October 29 – Fall Festival at the Farmers Market
Celebrate our final day of the Market Season.  The celebration includes story-telling, face painting, light refreshments and more!

December 6 – Glow “Eco-Art” Preview
Come see Glow “Eco-Art,” meet the artists who create it, and start your bidding for our silent fundraiser auction.  Then enjoy a meal and/or start your holiday shopping by visiting Lawrence’s mill district’s and downtown’s great restaurants and shops!

December 11 – Glow Gala and Fundraiser 
Help us celebrate another year of successful projects, partnerships, and programs.  Support Groundwork Lawrence while dancing, bidding on Eco-Art by local artists and environmentalists, and entering to win fantastic raffle prizes!
