Farmers Markets
The Groundwork Farmers Markets / Mercado de Agricultores are held from June through October. The markets feature a wide variety of local produce.
The markets provide a lively gathering place for the whole community with free attractions such as live entertainment, family activities, and cultural and educational exhibits.
Why Farmers Markets?
Because there’s nothing like eating fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally that are best for you, your health, and your family’s health, you’re supporting local businesses, it keeps money in our community, and is the best for the environment. Come and support your local farmers, get fresh products, and connect with your neighbors.
How?
All the farmers accept SNAPEBT/food stamps, debit, credit, and cash; GWL (Groundwork Lawrence) market coupons, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), and senior farmers market coupons are also welcome. Due to the (Health Incentives Program (HIP), SNAP households can earn a dollar-for-dollar match up to $40, $60, or $80, depending on your household size and income, on eligible purchases of fresh fruit and vegetables at farmers markets, farm stands, CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), and mobile markets. The HIP benefit is immediately added to SNAP households’ EBT cards after each purchase. Please enjoy the view, flavors, and offerings of the markets with us!

Every summer, we host three markets at three different locations in Lawrence and Methuen.
Join us for our weekly fresh produce sale!
Every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
at the Campagnone North Common (across from the Center at 155 Haverhill St, Lawrence MA).
Every Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
at the Nevins Memorial Library (305 Broadway, Rte 28, Methuen MA).
Every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
at the O’Connell South Common (across from Pronto Pizza at 65 S Union St, Lawrence MA).

Interested in being a vendor in one of our markets?
Our markets grow in popularity every year! Since 2015, we have seen the sales at our markets increase an average of 70% each year. In the 2020 summer season, despite the global pandemic, our three markets combined safely reached nearly 15,000 customers with $375,000 in sales.
This summer season 2023, combined our three markets reached 25,479 customers with $599,277 in sales.
