Costello Urban Farm
At Costello, as we sow seeds of justice and harvest bounties of sovereignty and reciprocity, we create community healing.
In 2012, our largest food production project was born – Costello Urban Farm. The space, which is an integrated part of the Costello Community Garden, carves out 19,600 square feet of growing space for our community and Green Team.
Costello Urban Farm serves as an urban agricultural community hub where we grow nutritious food and not just the kind you eat.
We journey together. During the pandemic in 2020, with the dedication of our community, we were able to donate the farms’ bounty of 9, 000lbs of fresh food to our neighbors in need. We have continued this practice ever since. We are dedicated to being a donation-based source of nutrient rich foods, herbs, and flowers for our community in the City of Lawrence. And we do it in partnership with our community in Lawrence and beyond. In partnership with MA Department of Agricultural Resources, we expanded our growing space and our farms’ viability by adding a New England high tunnel, wash station, and access to more land. These resources have enabled us to elevate what we do for our community. We are honored to continue serving our community in a way that reconnects us all to the power of nature. Join us.
