Farmers Market Coordinator 2019 (1-2)

Groundwork Lawrence has 1-2 position openings to manage our farmers markets in Lawrence and Methuen.  The position(s) are part-time, seasonal for our four markets: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from June through the end of October, and 2 Saturdays a month from November through February/March, depending on funding availability. The position(s) begin late May and could go through late October and/or early March and be available from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, plus set-up and breakdown.

Green Team Youth Leader 2019 (6)

Groundwork Lawrence (GWL) is seeking individuals with experience in youth development to be responsible for the daily management and supervision of our Green Team Summer 2018 program crews.  The Green Team Summer program is a 7-week part-time job and leadership opportunity for 30 high school students in Lawrence to be an integral part of urban agriculture, environmentalism, stewardship, and community engagement initiatives. Two Team Leaders are paired with a group of ten Green Team members to concentrate on one of the focus areas described below.

  • So Fresh- Costello Farm: urban farm and food initiatives.
  • So Green- Den Rock: trail maintenance and invasive species removal at Den Rock Park
  • So Green- Greenway: trail maintenance and invasive species removal at Ferrous Park and along the Spicket River Greenway.

Education Intern

As an intern in Groundwork Lawrence’s (GWL) education department, you will contribute firsthand to GWL’s work, since 1999, to create the building blocks of a healthy community and empowering Lawrence residents to improve their quality of life. Interns advance GWL’s youth education programming through supporting class facilitation, program development, and program evaluation to ultimately promote fresh food access, environmental education, community health and youth empowerment. Full Education Intern description here.
