This December, Root Cause’s Social Innovation Forum selected Groundwork Lawrence as one of five innovative, results-oriented organizations in Greater Boston to receive more than $115,000 in cash and capacity-building services from Root Cause and its partners! GWL was named the 2013 Healthy LifeStyles Social Innovator for promoting healthy behaviors in our community projects. At Groundwork, we are very grateful for the recognition, as well as the generous awards that come with it.
Evaluation and interview committees made up of more than 70 social issue experts from the business, government, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors reviewed upwards of 100 applications to select the winners. The “Social Innovators” were announced this December at the Social Innovation Forum’s “Celebrating Innovation” winter reception at the Microsoft New England Research & Development Center.
