Food Programs
Groundwork Lawrence is committed to increasing access to high-quality fresh produce in Lawrence, enabling residents to make healthy food choices for themselves and their families.
Groundwork’s community food programs combine fresh food access with education in an effort to reduce the city’s disproportionately high rates of diet-related disease.

You’re supporting local businesses, which keeps money in our community, and is the best for the environment. Come and support your local farmers, get fresh products, and connect with your neighbors.
GWL Community Gardens
Groundwork Lawrence operates a growing network of community gardens, providing another source of fresh food to Lawrence residents, while transforming formerly vacant and often contaminated open space into attractive and productive community gathering spots.
Gardens are cultivated and maintained by local resident gardeners.
Cooking Classes
Groundwork Lawrence is committed to delivering education programs that include cooking classes and a cooking club focused on integrating healthy foods into culturally appropriate meals.
