Green Streets Project Manager (Full-time)

Groundwork Lawrence (GWL) is seeking help implement GWL’s Green Streets / Calles Verdes Program, which plants trees in public and private locations throughout Lawrence. In this position, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Greening the Gateway Cities funded Green Streets project and collaborate with other Green Streets team members to plan and implement tree planting in public right of ways and on private properties. You will collaborate on community outreach and education efforts to recruit residents and property owners to accept trees for their yards within targeted neighborhoods.

Green Team Leader Positions (6) (Full-time, Seasonal)

Groundwork Lawrence (GWL) is seeking individuals with experience in youth development to be responsible for the daily management and supervision of our Green Team Summer 2018 program crews.  The Green Team Summer program is a 7-week part-time job and leadership opportunity for 30 high school students in Lawrence to be an integral part of urban agriculture, environmentalism, stewardship, and community engagement initiatives. Two Team Leaders are paired with a group of ten Green Team members on either So Fresh or one of two So Green crews.

Urban Adventures Summer Lead Counselor (Part-time, Seasonal)

Groundwork Lawrence (GWL) is seeking to hire a responsible, intelligent, creative adult, 22 years or older with a passion for working with Lawrence youth in the indoors and outdoors, as a Lead Counselor for the 2018 season.  The Lead Counselor must be currently working in the Lawrence Public School System and will provide service learning and urban agriculture/nutrition education instruction, guidance, and supervision of youth in accordance with programmatic goals and health and safety regulations as mandated by partner organizations and the state. There will also be a mandatory training period and some curriculum development prior to the beginning of programming as well as development and presentation of evaluative outcomes after the programming has concluded. This is a seasonal paid position with 25-32 hrs/wk.

Seasonal Planting Laborer I (Full-time, Seasonal)

Groundwork Lawrence (GWL) is seeking individuals to make a difference in your community by joining the Green Streets / Calles Verdes planting team. Tree planting laborer opportunities are available each spring (April-June) and fall (September-November) planting seasons. The 2018 Seasonal Planting Laborer I position begins in the spring on or about April 9 and ends on or about June 29. The fall planting season begins on or about September 4 and ends on or around November 30.
