Farmers Market Coordinator 2019 (1-2)

Groundwork Lawrence has 1-2 position openings to manage our farmers markets in Lawrence and Methuen.  The position(s) are part-time, seasonal for our four markets: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from June through the end of October, and 2 Saturdays a month from November through February/March, depending on funding availability. The position(s) begin late May and could go through late October and/or early March and be available from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, plus set-up and breakdown.

Service Opportunities:​

TerraCorps Community Engagement Coordinator (AmeriCorps)

The Community Engagement Coordinator at GWL will collaborate closely with the Green Streets Program Manager to help implement the Green Streets urban forestry project, which includes: 1) Support ongoing engagement and outreach efforts for the Green Streets Urban Forestry program. These efforts may include, but are not limited to - canvassing, distributing promotional literature, tabling at community events, attending and presenting information at neighborhood association meetings, speaking at public events and interacting with local media and other similar activities. 2) Support awareness and educational efforts by engaging with the community though various civic, cultural and other community-based organizations. 3) Engage with volunteers, students and Green Team members to promote stewardship and monitoring of trees planted by Green Streets; monitoring and tracking the health of trees planted under the Green Streets Program. 4) Support the stewardship of public trees. 5) Assist in documenting ongoing urban forestry activities, contributing to updated content for the Green Streets webpage and social media accounts.

Education Intern

As an intern in Groundwork Lawrence’s (GWL) education department, you will contribute firsthand to GWL’s work, since 1999, to create the building blocks of a healthy community and empowering Lawrence residents to improve their quality of life. Interns advance GWL’s youth education programming through supporting class facilitation, program development, and program evaluation to ultimately promote fresh food access, environmental education, community health and youth empowerment. Full Education Intern description here.
