Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Makes Eating Locally Easy

Share-a-Share Program Spreads the Health

Manchester Street Park - Construction Update

We're moving along out at the park site-the entire space is really starting to take shape. Next week we'll have some pavers on site, so the form of the parking, pathway, and playground area will be installed. Soon the equipment for the play area and the gazebo will be on site as well, so you can see some vertical construction.

Groundwork Lawrence CSA on the web!

We're offering more Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares this year than ever before! We're working hard to make the CSA accessible to as many folks as possible so that people living in Lawrence and surrounding communities can have easy access to fresh, local produce. Our information has gone up on a few different websites and blogs, including Local Harvest and the blog of one of our CSA member's at studio-e.

First Day of GreenStreets-6 new trees in Lawrence!

Two trees planted

Rose and the YouthBuild team started the day off with training on proper planting technique and then hit the ground running with 6 trees planted in the City. Today the YouthBuild crew all worked together to learn the do's and don'ts for the planting-starting tomorrow the group will be split into two crews for planting trees across the City. Give them a wave and thanks if you drive past them!

Manchester Street Park-Construction Update

It is very exciting to see work progress so quickly at the park site. Generally you can't notice a huge difference from one day to the next with construction jobs, but not out at Manchester Street Park.

April 2-overlook base

It has been a tremendous pleasure going out there each day and seeing the work! As you can see from this image, the overlook was cleaned out of scrub and brush on Thursday and by the following Tuesday was almost completely filled in with base material.

April 7-overlook base

We also have a new site overseer at the park. I discovered him basking (on a pretty cool day) near the overlook but totally out of harm's way. He was a little camera shy though and scurried off into the pond.
